972 days left. What have I been doing with the last 29 days?
1. Learn Thai cooking - Done! I took a Thai cooking class with my friend Kailin at Cook's World last Monday, 11/9. It was a lot of fun - the instructor shared the basic principles of Thai cooking and some specific recipes. I've already made pad thai at home, and Kailin and I are going to cook a more involved dinner this week. The instructor also gave us recommendations for cookbooks and how to experiment on our own.
3. Read at least 1 book a week (7/143) - So far, so good. I'm going to add a sidebar to the blog to track the books I'm reading.
4. Read at least 5 books from each NYT Top 10 Books of the Year or Critics' Favorites list from 2007-2011 and write a review on each (4/25 books completed and 0/25 reviews) - So far: Find Me; When Will There Be Good News?; Dangerous Laughter; Out Stealing Horses; in progress: Agent Zigzag; Nixon and Kissinger: Partners in Power; Young Stalin
5. Blog about this project at least weekly (1/143)
7. Compost - I'm getting worms to start my worm bin this week!
9. Run a 5k - Done! I ran 5k for the first time ever on Thursday, 11/12/09!
10. Run a 10k - Working on adding more distance to my runs a couple of times a week, in addition to still following the Couch to 5k program with Shell.
13. Sell the condo - This weekend, I did significant painting and repair work to get the condo ready to sell. It's not quite market ready yet, but it's a lot closer.
25. Have a vegetable garden - Looking through a seed catalog and planning which varieties to get was a blast. Now I need to sit down with Shell and plan how the bed will be laid out and start getting the seeds so we can start them this winter.
It's been pretty good progress so far. More to come next week!
